DRAGO GOLD - Lossless Sorghum Harvest
Olimac DRAGO Gold has been developed exclusively for the loss-free harvest of sorghum, sunflower and other specialised crops. It combines low losses with high harvesting speeds. This is made possible by its uniquely gentle picking system. During the development of DRAGO Gold, the focus laid solely on a careful and gentle handling of the plants. Thus, in contrast to conventional headers, neither reels nor cutter bars are used.
Rubber Gathering Chains
EXTRA GENTLE TO THE PLANT
The row-based picking system of DRAGO Gold minimizes mechanical forces on the plants. This is achieved by specially designed gathering chains with polymer teeth which fix the plants from the beginning on and guide them in a controlled way to the cross auger. The feeding system of DRAGO Gold consequently avoids transferring vibrations onto the plant thus preventing a premature loss of kernels.
Double - Rotating Blades
NO CLOGGING, NO WRAPPING
DRAGO Gold combines a lossless harvest with high operating speeds. Each row-unit is equipped with four hardened rotating blades. The front blades cut off the head of the plant, so the gathering chains can transport the plant's head with no vibration to the cross auger. This avoids the loss of kernels. Additional rotating knives mounted in the rear area of every row unit prevent the wrapping of plant material.
Conical Bonnets
FEWER KERNELS ON THE FIELD
Shape and angle of DRAGO Gold's bonnets have been specially designed for the harvest of dry and fragile plants. The bowl-shaped structure of the bonnets catches any falling seed. The bonnet's working angle inclines towards the rear of the header, thus ensures that the vibration of the machine transports the collected kernels to the cross auger. No kernels are left on the field, you get more yield in your tank.
Extra Large Cross Auger
MAXIMAL THROUGHPUT
With a diameter of 500mm, the cross auger is the largest in the industry and ensures a continuous crop flow even at high yields. To prevent any damages, it is equipped with a safety clutch. Therefore, DRAGO Gold is perfectly prepared for heavy crops, narrow row spacing, and fast harvesting speeds.
Slip Clutches
PRECISE PROTECTION
In order to ensure maximum durability and operational safety, each row of DRAGO Gold is individually equipped with two internal, maintenance-free slip clutches. Together with the safety clutch of the cross auger, all rotating parts of DRAGO Gold are reliably protected from overload.
Versatility
SORGHUM, HEMP AND MUCH MORE
DRAGO Gold is not only perfectly suited for loss-free harvest of sorghum and sunflower. It can also be used for the harvest of other specialised crops such as hemp and castor. DRAGO Gold cuts and collects the plants without losses and with high throughput. Specially for large plants and those sown in rows, the harvesting performance of DRAGO Gold exceeds that of conventional headers considerably.
Hydraulic Chopper
UNIQUE CHOPPING SYSTEM
DRAGO Gold's optional stalk chopper is an industry first from Olimac. It is located behind the header and is driven completely independently by its own hydraulic circuit. Each row of plants is covered by a hydraulic motor equipped with a knife carrier.
INDEPENDENT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The hydraulic pump on the header is driven by the combine PTO. It is protected from overheating by a cooling circuit including ventilation. In addition, a safety sensor is installed, which conducts and emergency shutdown of the chopper if the system pressure drops.
PICKING AT THE TOP - CHOPPING AT THE BOTTOM
Regardless of the header height, the working position of the chopper can be adjusted from the cab while driving. In this way, only the top of the plant is harvested and the remaining plant is left optimally chopped on the field. Height adjustments of up to 150cm between header and chopper are possible.

DRAGO Gold is available from four to 24 rows and with row spacings starting from 50cm. It can be ordered optionally with a hydraulic chopping system and lateral augers.
